Hi all,

after some months of "regular" SEM campaign, we would like to dramatically
improve our performances, and we've choosen to use the Google APIs.
Everybody seems positive about it, but when I ask for a specific
question... nobody kwnows the answer!

Here's the question: *is it better to*:
A> *create very specific campaigns and ad groups, using the APIs?*
B> *use the API to effortlessy manage the campaigns, with a less specific
approach?*

Note: data within <> would be automatically generated.

Example of advert, A>
CAMPAIGN WITH 3 KEYWORDS: PRODUCT, BRAND, COLOUR
ADGROUP: Bags, Calvin Klein, red
.
<C.K.?> Discover <Red> <bags>!
Today we have <12> new offers for
<Red> <C.K.> <bags>: from <22€> to <508€>

Example of advert, B>
CAMPAIGN WITH 2 KEYWORDS: PRODUCT, BRAND
ADGROUP: Bags, Calvin Klein
.
<Calvin Klein> <bags>
Find the right <bag>, we have
over <122> offers, from <22> to <1508>€

Obviously, keywords would be very specific, in the first hypothesis, while
much more generic in the 2nd.

Example of keywords,A>
CAMPAIGNWITH 3 KEYWORDS: PRODUCT, BRAND, COLOUR
ADGROUP:Bags, Calvin Klein, red
KEYWORDS:red Calvin Klein bags, red Calvin Klein bag, offers red Calvin
Klein bag, discounted red Calvin Klein bag (broad match)

Example of keywords,B>
CAMPAIGNWITH 2 KEYWORDS: PRODUCT, BRAND
ADGROUP:Bags, Calvin Klein
KEYWORDS:red Calvin Klein bags, blue Calvin Klein bags, white Calvin Klein
bags… leatherCalvin Klein bag, tissue Calvin Kleinbag, cotton Calvin Klein
bag… offers Calvin Klein bag, discounted Calvin Kleinbag… (broad match)

Any thoughts? Did anybody create such a vertical structure? What are the
challenges, with such a vertical approach?

thank you!
Marco
