Ok, I managed to disable an automatic placement, by adding a
NegativeAdGroupCriterion.
Not managing to re-enable it though, once it's disabled.
Still looking for how to change the bid on an automatic placement
though ...

By the way, do automatic placement get some kind of id, like keywords
and managed placements do? I see none in the allowed fields for
reports.

I'm currently developing an interface using adwords API, which
displays stats per site / keyword / ad, and allows for some basic
functionnalities (enable / disable an element, change bids on each
level).
So far, i've implemented anything without real trouble, except the
automatic placements
