I'm thinking my battery backup cables really should have ferrules on the
ends (after seeing how the strands spread with repeat screw-down
connections). 

 

I'm using mostly 6 AWG and 10 AWG. I've been debating whether to get a
dedicated ferrule crimper, or if I can just use my hydraulic hex crimper. 

 

Any advice from those with ferrule experience? I'm not opposed to getting a
dedicated tool, but these days I feel like I'm buying as many crimpers as
contacts.
