Finally got one of the new Cambium units in for testing. It is similar to my
GigE-SS and CAT6-SS in most parameters. Insertion Loss, NEXT etc. But there is
a major difference in Return Loss.
Return Loss meas
Less interference = less errors.
It has nothing to to with absorbing or suppressing surges.

Consider the source. They have an ethernet problem. Even with no surge
suppressor they have frame check and CRC errors. Most semiconductor based
surge suppressors agg
Our CAT6 products are 100% gas discharge tube.
Our GIGE line are hybrid semiconductor and gas discharge tube.
