I wont even get involved in "wifi" solutions of any scale here. Boss doesnt
want to do legitimate surveys, just wants to sell APs. What i push sales
on, i either know the layout and demand, or tell the people that without a
legitimate survey that im not the contact for support. And i wont do more
I have done several site surveys for very large Warehouses with great
success...I set up a test AP on tripod and take readings throughout the
entire place.
Based on signal penetration and quality , I can figure how many APs will do
the trick ...most of these have been Cisco APs (user preference)
With warehouses it is rarely the vendor that is the issue... rather it
is the placement and type of APs you are utilizing.
I'd almost guarantee whatever issues they are facing are because they
are using omni-directional APs. Narrow sectors are typically what you
want to utilize.

The E50x series is a great outdoor/industrial solution.
We have just added the Micropop to our tool box as well.

Strongest signal penetration I have experienced in crowded warehouse with
lots of interference are the newer UniFi dual band models.

Subject: [AFMUG] Warehouse APs
I have a friend that manages a 10 acre warehouse. He has about 100 unify AP
pros in there and is asking if there is a better solution.
I told him that I thought the Unify AP Pros were pretty good stuff but there is
a lot of stuff out there. I
I think Bill means Ruckus.
If it were me, I'd call up Cambium and see what Xirrus has to offer. Or

Im really digginng the coverage on the cnpilot e410, you can ho with
outdoor higher power like i run at my house. Pretty much the whole cnpilot
series is good, cambium also has another company they carry that looks like
it scales better.
For what you get theyre relatively cheap and they always
I’d swap a couple of those Unifi Pros out for some UAP-AC-HD-US. We’ve had
good luck with them over the other models. See if that gets better coverage
than what he’s getting on the pros?

I told him that I thought the Unify AP Pros were pretty good stuff but there is
a lot of stuff out there. I remember using Rukus for AnimalFarm shows.
