I imagine a recommended limit. I've only ever seen one connectorized radio
system that only operated with certain antennas (Solectek Skyway 2.4ghz
11b-based: the antennas they sold had a resistor and capacitor added
inside; the radio would check that resistance to confirm it's an antenna
they sold
