The ones we were shown were fully mechanical. Similar to a camlock but much
cheaper.

No epoxy. No polishing. They already have a very short piece of cleaved fiber
in them and it is already epoxied into the business end and polished.

I see these cheap 50 cent
Inside them is a v block and index matching gel. You have to strip and cleave
the fiber and then just slide it in and lock it in.

Why even mess with that? Just splice on half of a patch cable.
