Yep,
I use them for all sorts of monitoring.
IE: Tower light monitoring the newest config Ive been working on.
Battery level monitor
Temperature monitor (both room and equipment)
Control when conditions exist I have it turn on fans or even generator.
Working to deploy a simple control for some
Magnum Enery makes one, too.

All kinds of telecom inverters intended to maintain a 48VDC battery string
at float voltage will take 208/240/277VAC 60Hz input.
Or do you want something that is specifically a 3-stage temperature
compensated battery charger? Iota Engineering.

In this hypothetical off grid scenario, the only load on the generator
will be a battery charger. Can I get a charger that takes 240ac input
so I don't have an unbalanced load on the generator? I know they run
badly if you load one phase more than the other.

Ah yesexactly that.

Can anybody suggest a device that can monitor battery state of charge

Packetflux generator controller?
