A WEEK IN AGORA: February 7-13,  2022

# Summary

This week in Agora is Read the Ruleset Week! Players are encouraged to read
the ruleset this week. This week, scoring became official, lots of patch
proposals were sent out to be voted on, Falsifian had eir 2nd Agoran
birthday, and Trigon submitted a draft of eir Duck Thesis.



# New Players

* TABBAT registered on 07 Feb 2022 as a new player. Welcome!



# Proposals

* The new scoring subgame becomes official! Proposals now come along with
points for authors and voters. Patch proposals were sent out to be voted
on, and likely pass.

* Proposals that took effect this week:

- Points: If a player gets 100 points, e wins the game!

- Basic Scoring: Allows the Assessor to award points for authoring and
co-authoring sponsored proposals, along with voting against ones that pass.

* Proposals being voted on as the week ended:

- Device repeal patch: lets the device rule repeal itself.

- Hot Potato patch v2: Allows transferring the Hot Potato stone from Agora
in order to allow it to actually be auctioned off.

- Cyan Ribbon Patch: Makes it so Cyan Ribbons can only be earned if the
deputy hasn't held or deputized for the office in 7 days.

- Firing Judge Dredd: Makes it so finger-pointers can't resolve their own
finger pointings.

- sole quorum: Makes Quorum power 3 and makes it so quorum can drop to 1 if
there's only 1 player, preventing ossification.

- Degrees are for persons: Specifies that degrees can only be awarded to
persons.

- Minor Ruleset edits: Removes Eastman weeks and fixes some typos.

* Proposals submitted this week include:

- Cheaters shouldn't prosper: Adjusts the justice card finger-pointing
reward by making it disregard self-points and cleaning up the rule.



# Victory and Culture

* Falsifian's birthday was 13 February. Congrats on 2 years of Agora!

* This week is Read the Ruleset Week! Jason arranged for a recording of
people reading the ruleset to celebrate.

* Trigon submitted eir Duck Thesis, about round 9 of Infinite Nomic.



# Economics

* TABBAT got a welcome package.

* Falsifian got lots of coins for eir birthday!

* Trigon won the monthly wincard and converted a set to 10 winsomes.

* ais523 got a Justice Card for eir finger-pointing.

* The CFJ judges received their wages and blue glitter.

* G. received 9 BoC and 1 Legislative Card for eir passing proposals + 11
BoC for Orange Glitter.

* Plus of course, salaries for the officers' hard work.



# Justice

* secretsnail pointed a finger at cuddlybanana and Murphy for failure to
judge in a timely fashion.

* ais523 points a finger at ATMunn for tardiness of the Notary's report.



# The Judiciary

* One case was judged this week:

- CFJ 3946 - secretsnail failed to deputize to respond to a petition
because of a mistake.

* No cases were open at the end of this week.



# Miscellaneous

* Jason attempted to cast ballots on some devices, and Trigon attempted to
auction the device.

* Madrid said e "does the thing" but Jason objected to everything that
could intend to do.
