Strange.
That SHOULD not be possible as Observium checks the SNMP EngineID of the
device and compares it to existing devices to avoid adding the same device
twice with a different IP.

You can change this BUT you will need to delete and re-create all your RRDs
which means you will lose all your data.
If you just want higher accuracy and save the high-resolution
measurements for a longer period than 7 days you can set this in your
config.php:
$config['rrd']['rra'] = $config['rrd'
