[cobbler] Cobbler replicate over ssh
Hi has anyone managed to replicate cobbler using ssh tunnels or any other sort of tunnels? I am trying with ssh -l user master server ip -L 80:127.0.0.1:80 -L 873:127.0.0.1:873 -L 25150:127.0.0.1:25150 -L 25151:127.0.0.1:25151 To create the tunnel Then cobbler replicate --master=127.0.0.1 --distro=* But it picks up the local cobbler server and tries to replicate itself. This is because the ports I'm trying for forward are already in use. Is there any way to specify what ports to use? Hope someone can help. Your /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 binary only supports the above machine types but domain XML wants rhel5.4.0 machine type. Did you install qemu from an unofficial package or something like that? Since normally it supports rhel5.4.0 and the binary is called /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm. If you really want to use the /usr/bin/qemu-system-x86_64 binary, you need to make virt-install use pc machine type since by default it doesn't use any and libvirt 0.6.3 selects rhel5.4.0 as a default (newer libvirt versions are more clever in this). However, virt-install doesn't seem to have an option which could be used for overriding machine type :-/ You would need to change the type element in domain XML from type arch='x86_64'hvm/type to type arch='x86_64' machine='pc'hvm/type The easiest fix is to use the /usr/libexec/qemu-kvm binary, which is provided by kvm package. Jirka Hi Jirka, Thanks for your reply :) Well iv installed the default RPMS via Centos (5.5) How do I get around this? Isnt that kind of weird that you an install a rhel machine on what is essentially a rhel machine? [CentOS] Redhat CD with kickstart file
Hi, I am trying to create a custom iso that I can use to install machines. I want to include my custom kickstart file on the distro and when its put in get the system to build using it. I have done some reading about this process, but i still havent been able to get it working with out any problems. I have ripped the contents of the iso by mounting it on a loop back device. I then put my kickstart file names ks.cfg into /isolinux/ on the ripped cd. I then use mkisofs to recreate the iso, but every time i boot from it i get either unknown keyword in config file, could not find kernel image: linux or invalid or corrupt kernel image error messages. Has anyone got a step by step guid to how to do this as this is driving me nuts! Hope someone can help. Koan Problems...
Hi, I am trying to use koan to create kvm virtual machines on a kvm host, but have been having a problem. For the most part koan does everything perfectly. The problem arises when i need to use the virtio-net and virtio-blk drivers for network and disk. My question is, is there anyway that this can be amended in koan so that these are the default settings? I hope someone can help. KVM Networking Issues
Hi, Can anyone shed some light on a questions I have if possible? I know KVM uses dnsmasq for DHCP and DNS, but is it possible to not use this and use another DHCP server to dish out IP addresses? Now if my understanding is right, there is just a NAT created to access the VM? How is this done? The reason I ask is that I am trying to put together a lab that is running a kickstart server, which uses dhcp, so i would like my DHCP server to handle all networking, but I need to know how to create the rest of the setup so that i can assign a static IP and dhcp is only used for deployment / PXE. I hope iv explained that so it makes sense? Hope someone can help. Hi, I wonder if anyone is able to help me? I am trying to get a system setup that consits of: 1x Centos 5.4 Host machine 1x kvm virtual guest which will be a build server with dhcp running. x number of guests, built from the build virtual machine. the problem I have is that kvm currently has dhcp running and setting up NATs etc... [asterisk-users] Voicemails randomly not deleting in 1.2.9.1 ??
We updated our systems to 1.2.9.1 (from 1.2.4) about 3 weeks ago. About every other day since then, a user will complain that they deleted a voicemail, but that Asterisk continues to tell their phone that they have new messages. They also can no longer delete these messages. A quick check on the server shows that the .WAV and .GSM files were deleted, but that the msg000N.txt file remains. Manually deleting the text file obviously resolves the issue. Ive been trying for weeks now to come up with a repeatable way to invoke this behavior, but have failed utterly. However, we have seen this behavior about a dozen times. Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?
