During Hackfest we began collecting locations of Cat IG participants to
create an Evergreen Cataloger map. If your location is not represented,
it’s not too late – you can add it to the Cat IG on the Map

list of locations and we’ll routinely update the map. No names are
collected – just city state/province.

This was a special meeting as we celebrated and honored Elaine Hardy from
PINES, who has been here since the beginning - when Evergreen was just an
idea. Elaine will be officially retiring as of the end of June. Please join
us in sending our gratitude for her tireless commitment to the Evergreen
community -- and the Evergreen cataloging community specifically!

*Business Note:* There was also a discussion about the Holdings Editor and

Follow-up: BIBFRAME
In case you missed it, one of the topics at this month's meeting was the
formation of a BIBFRAME Study Group and Galen Charlton joined us to
kick-off the idea. He sent around a little more information to the various
Evergreen community email lists yesterday. Please join the list and
consider joining the first organizational meeting --- even if you do not
have time to actively participate right now. It will be good to bring
together as many people as possible as we get started.

MarcEdit is a free MARC editing utility available as a downloadable
software suite for metadata translation and editing. Originally developed
by Terry Reese in 1999, he continues to regularly update and support the
software for the greater library community. Kate and Mary will provide an
introduction on how they use MarcEdit when working with MARC records in
their libraries.

[Evergreen-general] Cataloging IG discussion about Item Status Screen (from Hack-A-Way)

The Cataloging Interest Group hosted a great conversation yesterday during
Hack-A-Way about potential Item Status Screen Improvements (including
renaming the screen to be "Item Details").

*Traditional Search Note!*

the Catalog menu options.

I created this shared spreadsheet to capture the questions/suggestions
about cataloging reports from our conference brainstorming session.

·   We will work in partnership with the Reports IG to begin

[Evergreen-general] Authority-Fest Time Clarification

The Evergreen Cataloging Interest Group is continuing planning for the
upcoming online Authority-Fest!



*Authority-Fest Event is scheduled for June 17, 11am - 1pm (ET).*



There is no fee for this event, but you must register at:
https://hopin.com/events/evergreen-international-hackfest-2022/registration

(If you have already registered for the Hackfest, you do not need to
register again.)



*Note of Clarification:*

When you register, the event will be listed as “Evergreen International
Hackfest 2022” and the times will show as 8:00AM - 6:00PM EDT.



We are taking advantage of having other previously planned “hackfest”
events for Development and Documentation on that day using the same Hop.In
platform as the Evergreen Conference.  The Authority-fest will be held on a
designated track and will be a structured event to take place for only the
two hours (11am – 1pm) as advertised.



*Event Description:* (In case you missed the original announcement)

Authority-Fest will be a two-hour interactive session to continue
conversations initiated in Cataloging Interest Group monthly meetings. The
goal is to provide a basic introduction to how Authorities work in
Evergreen currently and to hold a structured group discussion on pros/cons
of maintaining authority records. Attendees will work together to share
current practices, draft a consolidated list of known issues, and craft
suggestions for improved functionality.


This event is open to anyone with an interest in Evergreen Authority
Records and processes.

Hi Jennifer,

There is a new tab in Local Admin > Circulation Limit *Sets*
Create a new limit set.  Open the new limit set or edit an existing one.
This only works after the limit set is created.
When you open the limit set to edit, there are now 2 tabs: "Edit
Circulation Limit Set" and "Edit Linked Entities".
Click on the second one, "Edit Linked Entities"
Here you can apply Linked Limit *Groups* -- see screenshot below.
Presumably, the Items Out limit applied to the Circulation Limit *Set* will
consider the Linked Limit *Group* if a group is added here in addition to
linked circ mods and locations.
I have not personally tested this is in a while so I would be curious to

new features from the recent releases for Evergreen 3.8.0, 3.7.2, and 3.6.5

Hi everyone!

This week (August 9-13) is Evergreen Feedback Fest, focused on getting new
features and upgraded interfaces fully tested and ready to roll into
Evergreen 3.8.

There are 5 test servers (thanks to Galen & Jason from Equinox and Tiffany
from PINES!) that are loaded up and ready to test. All of them have the
Concerto test data set installed. Details for all 5 servers and the list of
changes each one of them has installed are at:

As you test, be sure to leave your feedback on the related Launchpad
ticket. I will update this spreadsheet throughout each day with the testing
progress. There are some handy links at the top to the Concerto logins you
can use, general bug squashing/feedback fest instructions and guidelines,
etc. And of course, you are welcome to take a look at other bug reports and
patches that are in Launchpad as well!
