We've been using it for about a year and half now and it's been great. It's
saved our staff an enormous amount of time, reduced
data entry errors, and provided patrons a way to register without coming
The only time I've ever seen this happen that wasn't staff error was when
there were either system problems or internet problems preventing the
checkin from completing, but even then it didn't give a false-positive - in
those cases, it just didn't appear on the grid.

Scanning an item multiple times on the checkin screen should not affect
your checkin statistics. The checkin date only gets saved when an item is
checked in, which closes the circulation. If you scan it again, it doesn't
create a new circulation transaction or rewrite the checkin date.

Hi everyone!
This week (April 4-8) is Evergreen Bug Squashing Week, focused on getting
bug fixes tested and approved.
There are 6 test servers that are loaded up and ready to test. All of them
have the Concerto test data set installed. Details for all test servers and
the list of changes each
Another thing I've seen an occasional issue with is if someone has their
phone settings set to receive SMS only and not MMS - sometimes it will
still go through and get shortened, but sometimes it seems to not go
through.

Is the sending email address the same for all of your outgoing messages?
We use a different sending email for each org unit, but that requires that
their SPF records on their domains are set up correctly. If not, receiving
service providers will often block the emails. I'm not sure if that could

Hi everyone!
So much testing happened yesterday and today that I could barely keep up
with the spreadsheet!
We are currently at:
- 28 patches and features tested successfully and signed off
- 12 patches and features committed to the master code
- 23 new and updated patches submitted
Feedback Fest has gotten off to a good start! So far we have:
- 11 new features and fixes tested and signed off (2 of those have been
committed to master, already as well)
- 5 new patches submitted
- 3 new bugs & wish list requests submitted
- 17 additional testing feedback

My initial thoughts on a separate app:
Advantages:
- A lot of staff tend to be confused by the concept of an offline web app
and find it easier to understand an installed program.
- It would get around the need to load pages into cache before using it
for the first time, which staff don't
It's almost Feedback Fest time again! If you are able, please plan to
spend a little time next week between March 14-18 helping to ensure that
the features and fixes going into the next version of Evergreen are
well-tested and bug-free.
We will have several test servers up and running the latest

We're going to implement this along with a big staff account cleanup
project we'll be doing this year. One thing I noticed was that it blocks
expired staff from logging into the public OPAC too, whereas a regular
patron can still log into the public OPAC after their account expires.

Hi Deanna,
I would probably do something like this, which only looks at the items that
actually circulated:

Filters:
Checkout / Renewal Library (In List)
Checkout Date/Time (Transform to Date, change Operator to Between)
(and then maybe filters for shelving location and/or
The PINES team at the Georgia Public Library Service is thrilled to add to

permissions issue rather than a browser issue.
Have you confirmed that the account that tries to log in to the

I'm excited about the new settings, I think these could definitely reduce
unnecessary transits for us.
Since 3.8 will also be adding geolocation data to org units, another great
wish list project would be for the holds targeter to be able to take
geographic distance into account as well.

I did a little poking on pattypan this week with some basic settings and
circulation tasks and didn't encounter any obvious problems, but I didn't
have time to do any very in-depth testing.

Since we're not issuing physical cards, there isn't a problem with lost
cards, which is nice. Also, we're using a custom version of the Hemlock app
for Evergreen and that allows the library card number / barcode to display
for those kids that have mobile devices. Most of the big vendors our

particular topic areas (cat-, acq-, circ-, opac-) to make tagging easier
moving forward.
