We are in the process of potentially changing our approach to these items.
Currently, our items marked as Claims Returned have their status set to
Missing. We've done so for at least ten years.
We've received some feedback recently from some of our libraries that this can
cause
Turning off "preload pages" in Chrome fixed the problem on all the affected
computers that I've updated so far this afternoon.

We've also encountered intermittent Hatch issues recently that are exactly as
you describe.
We had two reports of this behavior the week of October 23. At the time, we
