Stopped using Banshee as well as Ubuntu (returned to Debian). But thanks
for caring anyway :) Bug may be closed, I won't mind. Funny how long my
reports survived though :D

Hello,
this turned out to be a hardware problem after all. With different hardware
everything works just fine.

I don't think Canonical will fix this - They might care about
showstopper bugs like the Lucid Xorg memory leak when they're in a good
mood, but encryption is only used by a minority of the Ubuntu community
and it works reliably already. This is just a feature request, so don't
expect anything to

Can't you at least change the importance level? It is way more important
then wishlist, it is one of the worst things that could happen to a

apache2 DoS attack using slowloris
It is a serious remote denial of service! It can be used from a single
modem line and take down a whole server without generating any logfiles
except normal access logs. It's funny how you guys treat it as
Wishlist for three months even though it's one of the worst remote
denial of service attacks

Thus it should be changed to HIGH and fixed ASAP!

Why did you remove the code execution part? If this libtiff exploit is
able to execute code on a MIPS CPU it is really likely it could do the
same on x86er using exactly the same library! And since code execution
is likely it should be critical and not medium!
