Hi Ashwin,
What is network automation exactly? You seem to have mentioned it eight
times in the book description without going into detail.
Is it possible to see the table of contents?
And of course you can charge what you like for your book, but personally 25
bucks for a 100-page book is quite

Hi Talat,
I may be wrong but I think MapR's stack includes HBase 0.98 - so instead of
"Amazon" pick "MapR" in "vendor" selection when you're creating your
cluster.

I was just going to respond to that too, Bret. Well said.
It's astonishing how many people actually stepped forward to try and help
this very inarticulate splash of dissatisfaction, and probably a troll
bait. You guys are awesome.

Hi Omar,
I don't expect anyone will guide you here, everything is very
straightforward (and googleable by the way):

Pick the lowest hanging fruit in JIRA and off you go.

Hi Manish,
Read your stack trace:
at com.maddy.openaveragestock$map.map(openaveragestock.java:59)
Whatever you are doing on line 59 in openaveragestock.java is causing a
NullPointerException. Make sure you check for nulls or better yet improve
the logic.

Hi Thomas,
I definitely saw this before, iirc it was caused by monkey-patching
somewhere else in ceilometer. It was fixed in the end before i submitted

At this moment unfortunately that's all I can recollect

I really appreciate your help!

On your second point, I don't think column family can ever be an optional

Hi Igor,
I think there used to be a bug in the client, the fix exists but hasn't
been released as far as I know:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/python-novaclient/+bug/1167779
You can try and patch it yourself and see if it helps.

Hi Chris,
The list seems to be working fine, the last email was indeed 2 days ago.
The explanation is probably very simple: people are enjoying their weekend
:-)

Rao,
Can you make sure your region server is actually running? You can use jps
command to see Java processes, or a ps ax |grep region.

Most of your questions are covered in the official documentation:
http://hbase.apache.org/apidocs/org/apache/hadoop/hbase/replication/package-summary.html#requirements
/hbase is a znode, you can see it in a ZK client: hbase zkcli, you will
see hbase znode there with a ls / command.

Hi there,
I'm trying to set up replication in master-slave mode between two clusters,
and when this works set up master-master replication. Following the
replication FAQ step-by-step, but I can't make it work and have no idea how
to troubleshoot. There seem to be given only one way to find out
Just today I saw this mentioned in the docs. They said they deliberately
don't replicate those, otherwise it gets very messy.
