[all-audio] Goldwave problem persists

2019-06-02 Thread Donald L. Roberts
I am writing in the hope that some list member might have a version of GoldWave older than 6.23 which he would be willing either to email as an attachment or to send a download link. Older versions of the program worked fine, but 6.23 and subsequently 6.35 cause my system to hang, regardless

Thanks so much, Joe, for your kind offer.  Actually, the keyboard I use has a key which mutes and restarts the sound card as a toggle. Having checked that, however, the problem appears to be a Goldwave setting which thus far I haven't found but plan to contact the developer for ideas. Spea

[all-audio] Goldwave 6.23 major problem

2019-05-26 Thread Donald L. Roberts
My problem is not a malfunctioning Goldwave; rather, it is a setting which I can't seem to locate.  Essentially what happens is that whenever I attempt to make a recording with GoldWave, everything else including the screen reader output is muted. If anyone can point me to the setting which w

[all-audio] C Crane CC 2 E question

2019-02-27 Thread Donald L. Roberts
A couple of years ago, Dane had provided instructions for the C C 2 E radio to peak reception on the a.m. band, presumably by matching the antenna. Unfortunately, I have lost those instructions and hope that Dane would kindly repost them. This was a procedure which scanned the entire a.m. band

[all-audio] Question re Winamp 5.66

2019-02-12 Thread Donald L. Roberts
Many of the CDs in my collection are home brew. Winamp 5.66 is my player of choice. However, whenever I play one of these CDs, Winamp attempts to search a database. Where in the settings do I go to preclude such a search? Thanks. Don Roberts -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Groups.io Links: You receiv

Thanks, Dane, for telling us about the CCF pro from C Crane. I bought a CC2E a few years ago and frankly do not care for it that much. I hate that attempt at noise suppression when one is tuning around. This is especially annoying when attempting to tune a weak signal. But my biggest annoyanc

[all-audio] Playing DVDs on a Windows PC

2018-05-22 Thread Donald L. Roberts
For some reason which I do not understand, commercial DVDs do not start playing automatically when I insert them into the DVD drive on my PC. In fact, I can’t get them to play at all. I had thought I set Winamp to play these but may be wrong about this. When I launch a DVD, if I check the proper

[all-audio] Sound card questions

2018-05-22 Thread Donald L. Roberts
My Realtech sound card just died, one which is integrated with the mother board. I bought a USB sound card yesterday which is working fine. However, I wish to replace the Realtech if I have a vacant slot so I can use two sound cards simultaneously, one for the screen reader and one for everythin
