i've given up trying to correct the problem. i've removed and installed
openoffice several times, but the same problem continues with base. all the
other programs in openoffice work fine. i'm looking at another database
solution at this time. if at any time you see the same problem, or if
someone thinks they have a fix, i would be more than happy to test it for
you. i wish i knew what the problem was. i have no problems with any other
software. as stated before, i have amd athlon 64 processors.
