MySQL JDBC connector version: 5.0.6 The behaviour is the same (problem and workaround) as it happens with the odbc driver, with the difference that OOo doesn't crash. Despite the workaround, the linked field in the child table usually is the primary key. Marking it with the UNSIGNED clause is a common practice, I think.
