Many people in the office write reports and add pictures but do not know how to reduce picture image resolutions. Even in MS office 2003 it is quite difficult to do and as a result it is difficult to get less tech-savvy users to compress images in a document. However, if using MS word at least I can always reduce after I receive reports. Senior management has multiple offices and share reports between us by using a yahoo mail group. However, max attachment is 1mb. Hence, reports need to have images compressed before I can send to our management team. Including a "compress resolution to screen 96 dpi / print 200 dpi" etc ala MS Word is a must.
