Default paper format is set as A4 in the windows printer settings. All applications, including other parts of OOo, print on A4 as requested. Cause of this bug seems to be the 'default paper format' selector in the 'default page style' part of Writer (Format->Page, tab page, Paper Format). This selector overrides the chosen printer settings and properties, even with older documents which were written in A4 paper format style. The same selector in Calc works as intended.
