I am a 65 year old newby. Hagar de l'Est told me to post my NEWBIES's posting
here. I did but rearranged to paragraphs.
Could all pop-up windows be programmed to be adjustable by moving the cursor to
any corner of the pop-up and adjusting size as one does with a photo after its
been pasted on a web page being drafted? Once smaller, the pop-up window could
be moved so that the bottom would be visible.
Shrinking the restore window will prevent the occurrence of the problem I
encountered. I increased the font size to see without my glasses (65 year old
eyes). I closed down the computer and closed openoffice using the computer
message from MSFT Vista. When I tried to open openoffice, I got the restore
window, which was so large I could not scroll down to the ok button after
clicking the cancel button. Without a way to cancel, I could not use openoffice.
In Vista, I was not able to restoring the default font size because the ok
button wax not visible. MSFT had made its pop-ip window too big as well.By trial
and error, I found that selecting default dpi and clicking enter I in effect
clicked the ok button.
Bill replied to my NEWBY post: "The present solution is Press ALT+SPACEBAR, then
select "Move" on the menu that appears (or press the M key). You can then press
the arrow keys to move the window."
