I can reproduce this with openoffice-bin-1.9.118 as well as earlier versions.   
 
Server and Client are both recent gentoo.    
The workaround works, why not disable locking by default if it is known to    
break NFS?  
 
The state WORKSFORME is wrong, as it works only with workaround, sorry. 
Please REOPEN
