In my opinion, it would be a good idea to implement a small tool for just
viewing/reading OOo documents as odt, ods, PDF and so on, without any editing
capabilities.

Because of the fact, that Java is only required for a handful features and OOo
runs mainly on ins own, without the requirement of a JRE, why not make the few
Java dependent functions
