cifs credentials=/root/.smbcreds,dir_mode=0777,file_mode=07770 0 catting /root/.smbcreds gives: username=ke4qqq password=secretobfuscatedpassword I don't think this is a cifs mount issue, since the supposedly 'readonly' files can be opened fine with kword and abiword. Let me know what
