------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tue Jul 15 11:15:36 +0000 2008 ------- Hi, I will report the actual bug description first, but I have tried to get multiple master slides to work in 10 different ways without any success... A typical way to build a presentation is to create a master slide for "chapters slides" and a master slide for normal slides. This is how I do presentations and most people out there do. So I need to create two master slides and have them available as a master for each new slide I insert into the presentation. So, 1. I create a new blank presentation 2. hit view --> master --> slide master 3. change background to green (format --> page --> background --> colour --> green) 4. rename master slide to m1 5. close master view 6. insert new slide (it will come up green too) 7. note clicking on "master pages" on the right hand pane there is a mster page under "used in this presentation" 8. create a new master slide (right click on left hand pane, select new master" 9. rename master m2 (right click on slide, select rename master) 10.change background to gray(format --> page --> background --> colour --> gray) 11. close master page 12. both slides are now green, the right hand pane, under "used in this presentation" shows two green slide masters!! 13. in the slide masters view (view --> Master --> slide master) they are both there (gray and green) funny stuff: 14. if I save presentation, close it and re-open it, now the masters on the right under "used in this presentation" are gray and green, so saving/opening somehow fixes that 15. if I select the second (gray) master slide, and then select the green one again (without applying gray master) the gray one DISAPPEARS forever... it's not in the "view-->master-->slide master either). If I apply it immediately to the second slide I can save it. 16. it seems like even if I do apply it to the second slide, it goes if I delete the slide. It seems like "masters disappear if they are not associated with a slide". I think it is important to fix this, because it's the first thing lots of presenters will try, and switch back to microsoft (unfortunately.)
