running linux 2.6 with glibc 2.3.5 on i686 i am unable to start openoffice at
all -- invocations report segv. running 'soffice' on the cmd line will be
enough to segv.

i have tried with 1.1.4 which worked with glibc 2.3.3 but doesnt seem to work
with the glibc i have. /lib/libc.so.6 reports:

Compiled by GNU CC version 3.4.3.

starting soffice in gdb, i am told:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

i get the same issue when trying the latest 1.9.100 build -- i presume this is
an interface issue related to using glibc (or is it a glibc bug?)

thanks
ray
