I have EnZip 3.00 (http://website.lineone.net/~chris_m/) installed with a
default association to all ZIP files. If I double-click in an explorer window
on a ZIP archive, or download a ZIP archive with Firefox
(http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox) and ask that it be opened, or try to
start EnZip via the Start Menu, EnZip begins loading (I can see it in the task
list when I key Ctrl-Alt-Del) but doesn't become visible until I exit the OOo
Quickstarter and any running OOo applications. There may be other workarounds,
but so far this is the only one I've found. It took a long time to discover
this. It's only annoying now that I know the workaround, but others may be
quite mystified by this behavior since there's no obvious connection to OOo.
