I'm running on a Debian 3.1, so here is the whole process of installation:

1) I downloaded OOo2.0-RC, unpacked it, converted the .rpm files in .deb using:

find . -name \*.rpm -print -exec fakeroot alien -c -v {} \;

2) I installed the resulting .deb files using:

dpkg -i *.rpm

Now the problem I have found. It's consistent:

Every now and then, a dialog pops up asking me to authenticate on localhost.
After doing so, the application will freeze indefinitely (I left it a whole
night to try to recover) and the only ways to unfreeze it are either to
log-in remotely into the computer and kill the open-office project or
reboot the computer.

uname -a output:

Linux paag 2.6.12-1-686 #1 Tue Sep 27 12:52:50 JST 2005 i686 GNU/Linux
