Currently the browser plugin does a dandy job of displaying ODF format material,
but is there a way to have it handle other document types that OOo itself
already handles? Specifically, on *nix platforms there is no native handler for
popular Microsoft file formats supported by OOo; e.g. .doc, .xls, .ppt, etc.
This makes viewing such documents a multi-step operation (download, then open in
OOo) which has resulted (here at least) in users grumbling about "you don't have
to do all that in Windows." It appears that the file types handled by the plugin
are a static list in the binary itself. Is it possible to extend this list to
include the other non-OOo -native formats, or split off the file type list as a
configurable text file to add these types as desired?
