------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Nov 2 13:33:32 +0000 2008 ------- Installed OOo 3.0 (OOo_3.0.0_LinuxIntel_install_en-US_deb.tar.gz) on Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy. At first everythings seems to work, I can start any program via the menu entries in the GNOME applications menu. However when I double click a document in nautilus filemanager OpenOffice starts but then freezes. I only get the taskbar an a window frame. Additionally when I go to Tools -> Options -> Java the program freezes, too. I checked the issues 52774, 85955, 53850 and 85955 which sound similiar but I was not able to resolve ist. I have user accounts in LDAP and home directories on NFS. I played around with NFS and file locking and also moved a users home to a local filesystem, which didn't resolve it. When I create a local user in /etc/passwd then everything works, start via nautilus and the Java dialog are OK. So my workaround is to put a line every user into /etc/passwd until this is resolved. I also played around with the libdb, which was mentioned in some of the other issues, without success. I have got /usr/lib/libdb-4.6.so and /opt/openoffice.org/basis3.0/program/libdb-4.2.so. Could there another library involved?
