------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed May 18 09:04:56 -0700 2005 ------- Hi, I'm currently trying to prepare an Installer for a 3rd-party addon. In order to do so, Ooo's install directory has to be determined somehow. In the MSI documentation there's a package property mentioned for that purpose: TARGETDIR. Unfortunately, this property is empty after installing 680m100. Also, the corresponding registry value HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{A904C00C-30B0-4029-9048-7791E598208A}\InstallLocation is empty. In order to find a method for determining Ooo's install path, i installed Ooo in a non standard location (custom setup) and used the attached test program for dumping the complete MSI database for Ooo. After that, a recursive grep for the path chosen during installation could _not_ be found _anywhere_. There are some file associations present in the registry but these cannot be used in a safe way since they are not removed during Ooo uninstall and probably can be modified by 3rd-party software so they can point to nonexistent and/or modified locations. So basically, there's currently _no_ safe way to find out Ooo's install path which is absolutely necessary for 3rd-party addons. From a 3rd-party developer's perspective, this is a showstopper. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
