Originally I just wanted to integrate my coptic dictionary files (hunspell) for
spell checking, but this seems to require code modifications. I have tried to
modify (diff-file attached):
- tools/inc/lang.hxx
- tools/source/intntl/isolang.cxx
- svx/source/dialog/langtab.src
- i18npool/inc/bullet.h

Now when I start swriter I see that Coptic is listed among the languages and
after putting the dic and aff files in /opt/openoffice.org/share/dict/ooo/ the
small ABC Symbol appears. But the spell checking considers everything
as correct. Maybe the reason for that is that the unicode pages for coptic
are not defined? When I examined the file offapi/com/sun/star/i18n/
UnicodeScript.idl, I did not find the Range U2C80-2CFF (assigned for coptic).

Now here are some facts about the coptic language that might help understanding
the problem:
- the Unicode assigned a subrange (Greek, U0370-U03FF) and the range
U2C80-2CFF,
both are needed.
- the coptic language is the last stage of the ancient Egyptian language and is
not spoken in Egypt, therefore a complete localization does not make sense.

Thanks,
Moheb
