There has been a lively deep discussion on this matter on the user forums:
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=24333.  I felt it should be
brought to the attention of the developers

My personal view, as expressed in the forum, is that the prinicple of least
astonishment applies.  I believe that, out of politeness, the default system
should not include anything likely to cause annoyance, embarresment, or offence.

There are other views out there, but this is one of the liveliest topics on the
board and should be considered further
