I am exploring OO to be use with SAP R3 4.6c
I have installed OO 2.0 beta on my client (Windows XP Pro).

Background:
In normal condition when i export an report from SAP R3 4.6 it opens Microsoft
Excel & shows all the exported content in to it. This work Perfectly fine.

Problem:
Same excercise If i do it on my system without MS office installed on it, it
does not open scalc.exe. Then i have to export the same report to the file &
even though i save the same file as xls format & try to open it directly, it
open the file in WRITER not in SPREADSHEET. Actually it should open it in
scalc.exe.

Workarround:
Still if i want to use the same exported file then I have to open new
spreadsheet document & then have to use INSERT --> Sheet from file --> Select
the file --> then it will open the file in spreadsheet. but still in new sheet
not on the existing (e.g Sheet1).

Note:- when we insert the file it takes as an tab seperated document.

Because of this problem one cann't suggest the organization having SAP as their
Core application to use OpenOffice.

If anybody wants an test file then I can give it to then for the further
investigation of the problem.

Well i am an Network Engineer so please forgive me if I have not been able to
discribe the problem in proper words.

Feel free to contact me for any further details.

looking for some good solution.

Virendra
