------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Mar 24 21:15:06 -0800 2005 ------- I have a spreadsheet i am transferring from 123 to ods format. The user copies raw files into col b. Col a extracts the characters before a open bracket "[" and creates a key. Then I use vlookup to place this keyed table into a known location. So the input data can be of varying number of lines The desired target cell is of the format " 1 [ 1 a ......", " 2 [ 2 a ......", ,,,,,, " 10 [ 1 d...." etc I want the " 1 ..." cell to end up opposite the "1" cell. What is happening is that next to all the "10", "11",... cells, is the same " 1 [ 1 a...." cell contents. It appears to be that it is just keying off the first character. Is this a regex issue? At the risk of complicating this with a second issue, but maybe is same, for the "0" cell, one of the first cells has the format "....=0", which gets selected. This is not the behavior i was expecting. I worked around by limiting range, but places burden of proper selection of raw data on user. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
