Text within a cell can contain a newline (by editing within the cell and using
ctrl-enter). However a reference to such a cell loses the newlines. That is, if
text is entered in $B$3 with a newline, then another cell containing =$B$3 will
not show the newline.

Also, newlines cannot be included within quotes in functions or concatenations.
(Using the explicit newline CHAR(10) also doesn't work.)

By contrast, Excel allows newlines in all cases, using alt-enter. I have a
spreadsheet that constructs a text field with a conditional newline in Excel,
but I can't find any way to imitate such a construct in Calc.
