------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sat May 13 10:02:32 -0700 2006 ------- The autocomplete feature in OO 2.0 is different from OO 1.0 in that the user can type a letter, the first matching phrase begining with that letter is displayed (sorted by ASCII order), the user can type yet another letter to drill down in the list and a second phrase may be displayed. Hitting the tab key allows further drill down into that linked link(presumed) and a touch of the ENTER or ARROW key leaves the cell. THe difference from 2.0 and 1.0 is that 1.0 will correct the cell to the originally found phrase, correcting the capitalization scheme, and 2.0 will not - thus leaving a different capitalization scheme. This behavior is counter productive to data entry and clean data. The whole point of the feature is to save time and keep data uniform, the way it is now creates more work, if you wan to beat Microsoft you need to pay attention to such details. As you can see my typing is poor and I rely on features such as these to keep things uniform. System Configuration { Windows 2000 Professional V 5.00.2195 Service Pack 4 Dell Dimension 350 (Don't laugh, I have no money) Open Office v1.0 } Preconditions { 1. Open a Calc sheet 2. Set a phrase in a cell column. Type: ABCDabcd in cell A1 } Steps to Reproduce Behavior { In Calc 2.0: In Cell A2 type A The result will display ABCDabcd While still in the cell continue typing with a lower case "b" The result will display AbCDabcd Hit ARROW RIGHT and the cell will be left and the resultant display will be AbCDabcd. Doing the same set of steps in OO 1.0 will yield ABCDabcd in Cell A2 } --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
