I recently install Open Office.  I did this after research and receiving a
lowing recommendation for your product.  However,  after 2 days of use, I had to
uninstall the entire suite of products.  This is regretful.

This evening I was using Oo Calc Version 2.3.1.  I needed to save the Calc
spreadsheet as another name, click on 'Save as..', renamed the file. It seemed
to work.  Then I clicked on another saved Calc spreadsheet and it would not
open.  In fact my computer basically froze up.  My hard drive stayed on for 15
minutes while I babied my computer to shut down safely - not wanting to do a
hard shut down.

Since the install I have noticed that the Oo programs open slowly - meaning
slower than the MS applications I use.

My computer is completely capable of the install:
Microsoft Windows XP
Home Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

AMD Athlon 64 Processor
3200+
797 MHz, 512 MB of Ram

45.6 GB of available space on the hard drive.

When I installed I selected to have Windows and Oo as I am a new user to Oo.

But, something is a miss.  The Oo programs don't want to load quickly - sluggish
and then this evening it stopped everything.

When I finally had the computer shutting down safely the DDE Service Window as
well as soffice window were not responding to the shut down.

If you have a resolve to this I would appreciate it, but in the mean time, I had
to uninstall the programs.  If you reply to this with a resolve then I will
reinstall the programs.
