The behaviour, though "correct" is damn confusing and irritating. I've changed my setting to 20 decimals (the maximum) as I don't want OpenOffice screwing with formatting unless I've applied something. I enter a lot of numbers less than 0.004999 and it is frustrating to see them changed to "0".
