I'm using m109, and find that changing the table border styles does not work.  

You can only seem to do it via "Table Properties" (MS Word has an icon with
further drop-down icons),which is over-complicated.

Having to select the "Line Default" box, then a line, is very awkward, and
doesn't sem to work properly anyway (double line outer border changes to thick
2.0 pt single line and greys out the internal cell borders. 

It works partially if the "Merge Adjacent Line Styles" is unticked.  But what is
that all about?

No real help in the "Help" menu for this option.
