------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun May 29 09:42:35 -0700 2005 ------- Hi again, In case you see this, I would like to clarify. I do translation of Japanese documents to English, usually Word and sometimes powerpoint or even Excel. I usually place the cursor above the Japanese text and start typing, leaving a blank line between the top section (my translation) and the Japanese remaining to translate (below the cursor). I erase Japanese as I go along (this maximizes vertical screen real estate too). OOo is bad at this, if I type in Arial with a different Japanese font below, if I move down to erase some Japanese and then go back up to the end of the last English line, invariably OOo wants to use Japanese or even a bigger English font. I have to fight with that unnamed function. It would be nice if OOo was a little smarter about it, maybe just setting the style to the last character. Usually I have to position the cursor before the last character, type a period and some returns, and type within that expanded English font space. Same goes for editting multicolored text, which was a major pain (in simpress) recently. Recently I discovered that I can (at least with Arial) convert everything to Arial (which ought to be just an English font) and the Japanese will switch to some Japanese font, and it works. This is more sane. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
