If I create a document containing Thai text using the Thai edition of Word 97
and then load it into OOo, all the character formatting such as font, font size,
bold, italic is lost: all characters end up in 10pt Cordia.  Word 2003 can
correctly import the document.

The problem seems to be that OOo is treating all the character formatting
properties as applying to Western text not Thai text.
