2005 -------
In the file attached, there were two eps pictures, side by side in page 3, 
just above "Changed all figures ...". 
After adding the last paragraph, the pictures dissapeared and a red 
"read-error" label replaced them. closing the document and opening again 
revealed that the pictures dissapeared. 
 
This bug also appeared in OOo-1, issue number 33396.  
 
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce this bug, only give the resulting document. 
My guess is that it is related to the type of the eps-embedded preview type.  
Until now, my past experience showed that only Windows Metafile (WMF) preview 
is safe from this bug. 
I use 'epstool --add-metafile-preview' to embed preview in an eps picture 
(created by Matlab). See http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost/gsview/epstool.htm and
