------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Jul 29 19:16:21 -0700 2005 ------- The same thing occurs with both 1.9.118 and 1.9.113. It is similar to, but VERY different from the 2 other issues 47312 (closed) and 35922 (also closed). When using writer to work on a large doc, my /tmp file system filled up (normally change temporary directory to something else/larger in options - but this was a new install and I forgot to). Large doc filled up 512 MB /tmp filesystem completely. After 1.5 hours (yes, 90 minutes) of churn, writer *still* hadn't finished "trying" to write time and finally died (restart screen with recovery attempt). While original file on disk which I was editing was NOT trashed (differing from the 2 cited issues), nevertheless about 4 hours of work was lost because recovery failed. Tried it again (as a test) - copied my original file, brought it up, made a few changes and saved it, and exactly the same thing happened (did this 3 times just to make sure it was fully repeatable). There should probably be some type of warning when the full /tmp dir situation occurs with a chance for the user to enter an alternative location. But just trashing the saved file in /tmp is probably a defect. (Note this is a medium-large file - with 93 large graphs [scatterplots], 97 small-to-multipage tables, & about 300 pages. Not as big as some I work with, but big enough to be a pain - the save takes about 7 minutes on a fast system. And the .odt file is a little under 8mb) I cannot send a copy of this file (proprietary), but I can dummy up one similar to it if that would help. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
