I then open the document in OO Writer, in my case creating a series of bookmarks, although I don't know if that is related to this issue. I then save-as to RTF format again. OO Writer will open the file without errors, but the document appears to be blank. Word and Wordpad can both open the file saved by OO Writer and display the contents correctly.
