------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Fri Nov 25 01:57:56 -0800 2005 ------- Using Debian Linux, current version of openoffice.org in Etch distribution (1.1.4-7). Open a Writer document (new or existing). Under Tools / AutoCorrect/AutoFormat / Options, "Ignore double spaces" is checked. Under Format / AutoFormat, "While Typing" is checked. Type two spaces anywhere in the document. They are not replaced with one space. NB: the Help about the "Ignore double spaces" option says: "Replaces two or more consecutive spaces with a single space.". Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have never been able to understand the difference between AutoFormat and AutoCorrect? There are several other options that do not work under AutoCorrect/AutoFormat / Options, but I stop here for the moment ;-). Maybe it is somehow related to http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgNo=21881 and http://www.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=users&msgId=627927 ? These two post have never received any satisfactory answer, that is why I introduce the issue...
