------- Additional comments from [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Mar 19 22:32:32 -0800 2006 ------- When OpenOffice is run on Windows XP, and Windows Vista, OpenOffice should heed the global ClearType (Desktop/Properties/Appearance/Effects/Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts/ClearType) setting and render screen fonts, at the very least in the OO Writer editor window, using Microsoft ClearType. ClearType makes the text much more readable than ordinary monochrome font rendering. More information about enabling and using ClearType can be obtained from http://search.msdn.microsoft.com/search/results.aspx?qu=cleartype&View=msdn&st=b&c=4&s=1&swc=4 (A search on the Microsoft MSDN site for the word "ClearType"). I am an avid user of OpenOffice but recently had a chance to use Microsoft Office. I found that Microsoft Office looks much neater because of the ClearType support. When you edit a document for many hours each day, you appreciate anything that makes the text more readable. In comparison, the OpenOffice formatted text in OO Writer looks UGLY. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
