OOo will replace a single "i" by "I", because it "believes" that the "i" is a wrong spelling of the personal pronoun "I". No Idea how that can be eliminated without a complex grammar checker. @bgelb: Please contribute information concerning OOo localization and document language! I believe document language is English?
