I just installed the Blog Tool in an existing version of Open Office (2.2.1). The blog can't connect, so I tried the update. I get an error: The hostname update.services.openoffice.org could not be resolved. There is no proxy. I'm using Firefox.latest on XP. All other web connections work fine. The JVM is 1.6.0_03.
